Gökhan Tüfekçi’s solo exhibition titled “May Our Devil Be Plenty” will meet Istanbul art lovers at MeshRu on January 10. Gökhan Tüfekçi, also known as Kara Gözüktü Kaptan, formally interprets concepts belonging to popular and arabesque culture with miniature art and street art practice. The artist, who uses myths, tales, and past and present folk legends of the geography we live in in his works, brings together people and events he selects from these stories with a new fiction. Tüfekçi, who deals with the perspective and stacking style in miniature art with his own style, goes beyond the canvases with his intense use of colors and figures and spreads to the entire exhibition area. In addition to his traditional painting style, he introduces his three-dimensional works and the murals he creates using the walls of the space to the audience. Tüfekçi introduces his works, which range from street jargon to childhood images, from shadow plays to slogans, to the audience with an irony he visualizes around the concept of the absurd.
